Taranutty farm is situated approximately five kilometers from Mangawhai village which boasts a range of shops as well as a chocolate factory, gallery and village market. A couple of kilometers further on is Mangawhai Heads, one of the premier resorts in Northland with beautiful beaches, estuary, walkways and a superb golf course.

Our location, just over one hour’s drive north of Auckland and 15 minutes from Kaiwaka on SH1 makes this the perfect location for a weekend getaway or a base for a longer stay. We cater mainly for couples but the studio can also accommodate small children. You are also welcome to bring your well behaved pets.

We offer pet friendly, boutique farmstay accommodation. On the farm, we have a small herd of alpacas, some beef steers, Sophie the spaniel, some wild turkeys and an assortment of other wildlife. Visitors are welcome to take a stroll around the farm & down to the river – you can even ride your mountain bike through the chestnut orchard & around the paddocks. Although the farm is not registered organic, we utilise many of the techniques of permaculture and do not use any artificial fertilisers or non-organic pesticide or herbicide sprays.
